At the Depot:

  
Reservations/Customer Service Department
Responsibilities will include answering inbound calls from vendors and customers regarding train reservations and availability. Must have excellent people skills, phone skills, some computer experience, and be able to problem solve and make decisions to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Front Counter Customer Service Representative
Responsibilities will include greeting customers at front counter, printing tickets, and answering inbound calls from vendors and customers regarding train reservations and availability. Must have excellent people skills, phone skills, some computer experience, and be able to problem solve and make decisions to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. Applicant must have a pleasant personality, good hygiene and appearance, with strong people skills.

Retail Clerk
Must have basic understanding of opening and closing store, ability to organize stock and count inventory. Responsibilities will include following retail procedures, maintaining cleanliness of gift shop area, filing and shipping and receiving. Applicant must have a pleasant personality, good hygiene and appearance, with strong people skills.

Beverage Counter Cashier
Cashier and Food Prep
Food Prep
Must have experience with a cash register, daily sales sheet, inventory and order forms. Responsibilities will include stocking condiment station and display cases, taking orders and cash. Must maintain and keep clean work area. Kitchen experience is a plus.

Grill Cook
Responsibilities will include all stages of food preparation to address grilled entrees, preparation of appetizers for on train consumption, inventory of and stocking items related to kitchen, maintaining clean stoves, grill, refrigerators, freezers, walk-in cooler and pantry. Good customer service interaction required and experience with using a gas grill is a plus.

Stock Person
Will be responsible to receive deliveries from distributors and track inventory needs. Must record, inventory and rotate stock from depot to train on a daily basis. Responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Housekeeping
Position will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of cleanliness on train cars, in depot and on grounds of property. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to general cleaning such as vacuuming, mopping, polishing, maintaining carpets, cleaning upholstery washing windows on train and in depot.

Maintenance
Position would be responsible for repair and maintenance of grounds, building and train. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, irrigation systems, landscaping, painting and construction a must.

 
On the Train:

  
Gondola Attendant
Position interacts with passengers during four-hour train trip. Responsibilities include boarding passengers, collecting tickets, sharing knowledge of region, canyon and history of area while maintaining a safe environment for passengers. This position requires high attention to positive customer service.

Server (Waitress/Waiter)
Position interacts with passengers during four-hour train trip. Responsibilities will include setting car to receive passengers, preparing hot table for appetizers, serving drink orders and assisting bartender. This position requires knowledge of region, canyon and history of area while providing positive customer service.

Bartender
Position interacts with passengers during four-hour train trip. Responsibilities include setting up bar on a daily basis, preparing drink orders, keeping inventory and daily sales sheets. This position requires knowledge of region, canyon and history of area while providing positive customer service.

Coach Concession Attendant
Position interacts with passengers during four-hour train trip. Responsibilities include setting up snack bar on a daily basis, serving customers, keeping inventory and daily sales sheets. This position requires knowledge of region, canyon and history of area while providing positive customer service.

The descriptions provided above give an overview of each position’s responsibility. Responsibilities will also include other duties as assigned.  Applicants must be able to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays according to train schedule and seasonal impact. Drug testing is mandatory. Salary and benefits are based on experience and expertise. All Verde Canyon Railroad employees are required to have a professional appearance and uniforms are mandatory.
