Information upon Request

The significance of a wedding cake dates back to the Roman Empire, though in ancient times their “cakes” were generally not quite as fancy as they are today. Loaves of bread, broken over the heads of the newlyweds were believed to bring them luck, prosperity and fertility in their lives together. Any crumbs that landed on the floor were quickly snatched up by the guests, especially single women hoping to share in their own good wedding fortune. Though some aspects of this ancient tradition have changed, to this day, no wedding is complete without the cutting of the cake!
