Rules of the Rails

Before you ride, it is important to know the Rules of the Rails:

It is suggested that you arrive one and one-half hours before departure. Boarding is approximately 15 minutes prior to departure, but dependent upon weather conditions.
Outside food, drinks, ice chests, hard-case coolers, picnic baskets, car seats and strollers may NOT be brought on board the train.
At all times, children must be accompanied by an adult, especially when entering or exiting cars, and on open-air viewing cars.
When children ride free, they are expected to remain in the lap of an adult while seated, or close-at-hand while on an open-air viewing car.
Our depot and train cars are non-smoking. Smoking is allowed only on outdoor patios and on the open-air viewing cars at Perkinsville while the engines run around the train. Cigar smoking is not permitted at any time on the train or in the depot.
Shirts, tops and shoes must be worn at all times when riding the train.
Remember to dress appropriately for the season. Don't forget sunglasses, cameras and sunscreen. Nighttime in the high desert usually means cooler temperatures.
