The Verde Canyon Railroad depot was opened
on July 4, 1997, the same year the Verde Canyon Railroad's FP7 engines
first pulled the train consist. Located in Clarkdale, Arizona, the depot
is erected on the same site that two other depots once stood. The first
burned to the ground, the second was sold and moved to another town
in Arizona. The depot has a southwestern flair, with most of it being
constructed by local craftsmen and artists. Behind the scenes the depot
houses reservation offices, and managerial and marketing offices. Other services for guests include the
Boxcar Gift Store, Copper
Spike Café and John
Bell Museum. Gearing up to ride the rails is part of
the Verde Canyon Railroad journey.
