Looming precariously above the Verde Canyon Railroad, Jerome, Arizona is one of the most infamous ghost towns in America.  It’s perched ominously on the mountainside like eerie castles, mad scientist laboratories and haunted houses featured in countless monster movies. Verde Canyon Railroad has invited many of Jerome’s ghosts and goblins to socialize with passengers on the annual Haunted Halloween Express on Thursday, October 31, 2013, where there are no grown-ups, just kids of assorted sizes.  The 1 p.m. journey into the autumn-splashed canyon features a costume contest, spine-tingling tales and plenty of treats without tricks.
