SEDONA AREA RAPTOR & WILDLIFE PRESENTATIONS

Great Event for Nature Lovers of All Ages

Learn about raptors and other native Sedona wildlife at the depot prior to the 1:00 p.m. train rides for an up-close experience. By partnering with Arizona’s Liberty Wildlife, Verde Canyon Railroad provides visitors the opportunity to see majestic owls and wild raptors. Liberty Wildlife shares the beauty of a rescued bald eagle, our nation’s noble bird, with visitors at the depot and on the rails on select Saturdays throughout the year. Visit verdecanyonrr.com/train-schedule/ to see availability.

Visit www.libertywildlife.org to learn more about these amazing creatures.

American Bald Eagle  Presentation at the Depot

Get up close and personal with either Sonora, Aurora, Laddy or Cochise, all bald eagles that live in Arizona and the only eagles in the world that actually have had the opportunity to enjoy a train ride. These eagles have become an educational symbol of  Verde Canyon Railroad’s promise to protect the Canyon and its inhabitants.

** Last minute scheduling changes can occur.

Raptor and Reptiles at the Depot

Liberty Wildlife handlers present a variety of raptors and native “critters,” on the patio prior to the train’s departure on select days throughout the year. The knowledgeable volunteers are there to answer questions and pose for photos during the depot presentation. Presentations are open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m..

As breathtaking as it is to see an eagle in flight, a face-to-face encounter with a raptor is equally as astounding. Everyone has the opportunity for personal interaction with these majestic creatures at the depot.

It’s all part of the journey aboard Verde Canyon Railroad.

Liberty Wildlife is located at 2600 E. Elwood, Phoenix, AZ 85040. They have regular visiting hours open to the public, as well as special events scheduled year-round. Visit www.libertywildlife.org for more information.

A portion of all train ticket revenue is donated to Liberty Wildlife Raptor Rescue program.
