EVERYONE IS “HOPPING” ON BOARD THE VERDE CANYON RAILROAD THIS SPRING!
Posted by Teresa Propeck on March, 17 2017

Easter marks the rebirth of nature and the regeneration of its inhabitants, every creature big and small.  It is also an invitation to go outside and enjoy longer days, and moderate temperatures. Hop aboard the Verde Canyon Railroad and take a look – breathtaking horizons and impressive displays of color embraced by Canyon walls, rising pinnacles, majestic spires and lest we forget…clean, clear, crisp canyon air!

Another sure symbol of the season: a big bunny sighting in Clarkdale, Arizona. And, this isn’t just anybunny! It’s somebunny very special! This rare rabbit only makes his appearance once a year, on Easter Sunday at the Verde Canyon Railroad depot. Sharing candy, hugs and fun photo ops, the jumbo-sized hare is a classic harbinger of the new season. Arriving at the train station around noon on April 16th, the Easter Bunny is hoppy to greet all guests on the patio, especially those planning to ride the 1:00 p.m. departure into the Verde Canyon wilderness.

“Our holiday excursions are designed as a family event,” says Teresa Propeck, marketing director.  “However, spring is special.  Every day there is a subtle change… more color, more animals, quite simply, more to see.”

Without doubt, there is no better way to see this abundance of beauty than aboard the Verde Canyon Railroad.  Along the rails of this appealing excursion, passengers venture along a forest protected from virtually all civilization.  Its inhabitants wander freely and in full view.  Its vegetation is ripe and full of fruit, flowers, and fragrance.

What a way to see it all … the well-appointed caboose is a private car for six and first-class cars boast plush seating, complimentary appetizers, and a full-service bar. Everyone has access to open-air viewing cars offering 360-degree vistas and spectacular photographic opportunities.  There is one more class of ridership for one fortunate person each day, quite frankly, the best seat in the house. This engineer ride-along, seated, between the engineer and conductor, is inside a classic American-built FP7 locomotive.

A stone’s throw from the hillside mining town of Jerome, Verde Canyon Railroad is in the heart of the Verde Valley, a diverse crossroads featuring amazing adventures in every direction. Only two hours from Phoenix and 25 minutes from Sedona, Verde Canyon Railroad is the perfect Arizona day trip, weekend celebration or addition to Arizona vacation plans. Reservations are accepted online at VerdeCanyonRR.com or at 800-293-7245.
