We ate surprisingly good hot and burgers at the train station and enjoyed the champagne/cider toast and snack box. Byron was our guide. Not only was he entertaining but extremely knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the Verde Valley.
My fiancé and I were celebrating our last day before elopement today on the afternoon ride at Verde Canyon Railroad.
While I don’t know their names, our bar service attendant in the Scottsdale car and also our guide on our panoramic outdoor car we’re absolutely outstanding. We chose to remain outside with our guide for most of the experience because of all her knowledge and genuine fun she brought to the ride. She mentioned only having been there since October, which we found remarkable.
We wanted to share some of the photos from our ride today. It started out bright and sunny and ended with storm clouds behind us – this made for some incredible photos! We even spotted some bald eagles.
We are grateful for the opportunity for such wonderful experiences.
There is plenty of parking, a nice giftshop and a small cafe’ for a meal before your ride or take along with you.
The train has really comfortable seating with tables. Our bartender Nick provided each of us a snack box and a Champagne toast before the start. Shelley was our guide in the outside car. She was delightful with a fun sense of humor. Very informative about the sites we would see and stories about the area. She reminded us about safety and to hydrate with the cold bottles of water provided. The ride was very interesting and the train was comfortable and relaxing.
