Overview
A variation of vinos – red, white and blush – is ready to be sampled and sipped at the depot’s pavilion prior to the train’s departure. Wines are selected from viticultural regions that span the globe, including secluded grape-growing regions within the U.S. The Uncorked Wine Festival event features boutique wines that have had little introduction but are rich in flavor with remarkable pedigrees that complement the beautiful canvases of their bottles.

Before you board for an unforgettable time on the rails, don’t miss the chance to pick up a keepsake at the Boxcar Gift Store. From designer apparel and home goods to exclusive local art, books and handcrafted jewelry, you’ll find the perfect memento that will capture the magic of your adventure.
The John Bell Museum, located in a historic box car, is chock full of the history of the railroad in Clarkdale, as well as neighboring communities that were built to support the copper mines that fueled the Industrial Revolution. With fascinating artifacts and local lore, the museum is a great place to explore during the Uncorked Wine Festival. A walk along the boarding platform will take you to an array of junior billboards that are rich with the people and wildlife that have imprinted the Verde Valley and the Canyon.
The museum and gift store are open before and after the train ride, except on night trains. The café is only open prior to the train ride.

The celebratory vibe continues to flow aboard the train with an assortment of wines available for purchase during the scenic springtime excursion. You’ll savor the thrill of the canyon’s vibrant scenery with unlimited access to adjoining open-air viewing cars, an exhilarating escape where you can immerse yourself in fresh air, sunshine and pleasant seasonal temperatures. The train travels through a stunning red-rock canyon with wildflowers in bloom and eagles in flight.

- Souvenir stemless wine glass with etched logo
- Punch-card for 4 wine tastings on the depot pavilion

- Train ticket in comfortable living room-style coach with access to open-air viewing car

- If you have purchased a Grape Train Escape ticket, you can purchase wine at the depot prior to the ride and do not need to purchase an Uncorked Wine Festival ticket.
- Café opens at 2:30 p.m.
- Wine tasting on the pavilion from 3 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
- Train boards at 5:15 p.m.
- Train Ride Duration: 4 Hours

Uncorked Wine Festival FAQs
What time should I arrive for the Uncorked Wine Tasting and Lunch?
We recommend arriving at the depot 2 hours prior to train departure to allow time to enjoy lunch at the Railroad’s Copper Spike Café, peruse the Boxcar Gift Store and sip on a glass of wine on the pavilion. The café, pavilion bar, museum and gift shop are closed when evening trains return.
Can I just ride the train without purchasing the Uncorked package?
Yes. Tickets may be purchased for the train ride and lunch without the wine tasting. Also, if you have a Grape Train Escape ticket for wine tasting on the train, you can purchase wine at the depot prior to boarding and do not need an Uncorked package.
How is Uncorked different than the Grape Train Escape?
Uncorked takes place on the depot patio prior to the train’s departure and includes lunch. Your party members age 21+ can participate in the wine tasting. The Grape Train Escape is a wine tasting ON BOARD the train in select special event cars during the Saturday Starlight evening schedule and requires all ticket holders be 21+.
Do you have to be 21+ to ride the train during this event?
As the wine tasting takes place on the depot patio, your reservation may be comprised of wine-loving adults, non-drinkers, teens and children and you will all be seated together aboard the train.
Are non-alcoholic beverages available at the event?
Non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at the depot and aboard the train.
