Ride with the Engineer and Conductor of the VCRR
Savor the day from inside the cab of a rare and powerful American-built locomotive.
During the ride-along, you’ll be seated between the engineer and conductor inside the cab of the Railroad’s classic 1953 General Motors EMD FP7 for the four-hour journey from Clarkdale to Perkinsville and back.
You’ll start the day dressed in complimentary Verde Canyon Railroad safety gear, ready to assist the engineer and conductor in their train preparations. You’ll have lunch at the Copper Spike Café in the depot before the train departs, and upon your return, you’ll receive a framed photograph of you and the crew with a certificate of completion, numbered and signed by the owner of Verde Canyon Railroad to commemorate the perfect day.
CAMERA USE – The use of a camera during a Verde Canyon Railroad ride-a-long is permitted. During periods when the “Cab Red Zone” (CRZ) safety rule is in effect, the locomotive cab guest must remain seated while utilizing the camera. During CRZ periods, conversations with the train crew will be suspended. Cell phone use is never allowed inside locomotive cab. The guest must always follow crew instructions.
