Treat someone special to a locomotive ride-a-long, where they’ll be seated between the engineer and conductor inside the cab of the Railroad’s classic 1953 General Motors EMD FP7. You’ll start the day dressed in complimentary Verde Canyon Railroad safety gear, ready to assist the engineer and conductor. You’ll have lunch at the Copper Spike Café in the depot before the train departs. When you return, you’ll receive a framed photograph of you and the crew, and a signed Honorary Engineer’s Guild certificate.
All participants must be 18 years of age.
Travel in luxury. The Caboose features six oversized chairs near panoramic windows and access to private outdoor viewing platforms. Two cupola seats afford a bird’s-eye view of the Canyon, rarely seen by one without wings. A personal valet pours Champagne upon departure and serves fresh Southwestern-style appetizers. Non-alcoholic beverages and water are complimentary. A choice of premium alcoholic drinks is available throughout the trip. The exclusive caboose is designed for one party of six or less adults. Passengers must be 12 years or older.
Eight first-class cars, all accessing open-air viewing cars, have panoramic windows and living room-style seating with love seats and bistro-style chairs and tables. Along with spacious accommodations, first-class passage includes Champagne upon departure, full-service cash bars with premium liquor, beverage service at each seat and complimentary Southwestern-style appetizers. First-class service has fewer passengers indoors and out. All cars access a shaded open-air viewing car.
Coach class offers classic railroad car seating that has characterized train travel from its inception. Vintage Pullman-style upholstered seats are near panoramic windows. Approximately 74 people ride comfortably in each coach car. Convenient food and beverage centers sell snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine. All cars access a shaded open-air viewing car.
Child rates are for ages 12 and under. Senior rates are for ages 65 and older.
The romance of the rails will captivate your senses during Verde Canyon Railroad’s Chocolate Lovers’ Festival celebrated over Valentine’s Day Weekend. The confectionary celebration will fill your first-class car with the intoxicating scents and flavors of chocolate via tasty pastries, cakes and luscious hand-dipped delicacies.
Recipient can choose any complete meal (hot or cold) from our extensive menu, including a nonalcoholic beverage of choice. Lunch may be enjoyed out on the patio or we will package it to carry aboard the train.
